The Phantom Wall Screens Eco-Screen is retractable insect screen system for openings as wide as 24′. It operates with just a fingertip and completely disappears into the door frame when not in use. The screen can also be combined with a blind in a single system for complete versatility.

The system comes in single or double configurations: a single screen opening from the left or right (up to 12′); or two screens opening from each side and meeting in the middle (up to 24′). When combined with a blind, the screen opens from one side and the blind from the other in openings up to 12′.

A range of Wall Screens innovations ensure the whole package functions simply and smoothly.

Load Balancing Technology
Load Balancing Technology (LBT) (patent pending) allows for the effortless fingertip control synonymous with Phantom products. With no crude spring-loading to fight against, the screen’s lead-stile remains firmly in any chosen position until further pressure is applied. Load-balancing also means far greater tension across the screen, eliminating any tendency for sag.

Tight Technology
Tight Technology manufacturing techniques ensure control of the horizontal edges of the screen so it remains straight and tight across the widest spans.

Self-Feeding Mechanism
Should wind blow the screen out of the top or bottom channels the fabric will self-feed back onto the roll.

Materials
Phantom Wall Screens systems are manufactured entirely in stainless steel, brass and reinforced engineering polymers. Tough fiberglass/PVC used in the screen is hardwearing, easy to clean and can be replaced.

Testing
The screen system has undergone cycle testing to 400,000 operations in a laboratory and been extensively exposed to dust, mud, sand and corrosive atmosphere. It has stood up to impact testing with a 17kg punching bag 100 times and considerable pushing, poking and prodding to simulate real life use.

What is covered:

All standard parts and mechanisms in material and workmanship are warranted for a limited lifetime from date of purchase when the Retractable Screen door is properly installed on a residential door. The screening material is expressly excluded from warranty.

What is not covered:

This limited warranty does not cover a defect that has resulted from improper installation, use, alteration or maintenance. The screening material is expressly excluded from warranty. Change in color of parts that takes place over time is not covered nor is damage to fasteners from drill or screwdriver damage during installation or removal.

Complete Screens makes no warranties for failures or operating difficulties due to accident, acts of God, abuse, misuse, alteration, misapplication, faulty building construction or design, exposure to the elements, exposure to corrosive environments, improper handling, installation, or maintenance.

Complete Screens will not warrant any wood veneer products if the woodwork is not properly protected. A good quality top coat and sealer must be applied to all exposed wood surfaces. It is the customer’s responsibility to properly care for and protect woodwork against moisture or excessive dryness.

Warranty does not cover any rips, tears, separation, fraying, and/or snags of any sort on the screen material. The detaching of the screen material from the roller tube and/or pull bar is excluded as well. Customer acknowledges that the retractable screen is for ventilation and bug reduction only; it is not meant to keep bad guys out or keep kids or pets inside. In no way is the retractable screen(s) installed at your house meant to be used as a security screen. Added features such as the french door pins, latches, and/or sirens may be used freely to help create awareness to any situation that might arise from the opening and closing of the screen door. In no way is Complete Screens to be held liable for any harm done to you, your property, and/or your family because of these added features failing. You are aware that your threshold might have been altered and Complete Screens will not be held liable in any way for any tripping, falling, leaks, and/or injuries occurred from this change to your door.

Do you love sitting on your patio, but are tired of the bugs? Enclosing your patio with ready-made screening might be just the answer. With a screened patio, you expand the area’s functions to include a place to eat, sleep, and relax without the worry of bugs and insects and reduce the dirt and debris that come with life outdoors. Enclosing your patio with screening also enhances the value of your home and gives you a place to entertain. It can be very simple to create a screened enclosure. There are many kits available for this very purpose. Only a minor amount of construction will be necessary. Perhaps the most involved part will be constructing a door frame.

One note: You may need a building permit to construct your enclosed porch. Check with city hall and make sure you complete the appropriate paperwork and meet permit requirements.
Your first step is to take measurement and make a list of needed supplies and materials. If you don’t have plenty of support beams in place, this will be your first project. Take into consideration the amount of wind and heavy storms your area or region experiences. Redwood timber makes great support beams. Your next step will be to stain or paint your wooden beams. You may also want to paint the underside of the roofing. Next decide if you want the screening to be permanent or removable. There are some neat screens available that attach with velcro for easy removal. There are also options that allow you to roll up your screening when desired.

These instructions assume that you already have a patio floor and roof in place. If you decide on permanent screening, you can buy or make large wooden or aluminum framed screen panels for easy installation. Screening is a simple process but requires a few specialized tools and you may have to practice a bit to get the knack of creating a tight screen. Note that aluminum usually requires professional installation while wood may be the costlier option as far as materials go. You can even buy ready made screen door panels and attach side by side, installing one or two with hinges and handles for an entry way.

You will attach the screen panels to your support beams with wood screws. You can easily complete this project within a day. To further enhance your screened-in porch, you may want to consider painting the ceiling a light blue or gray color and installing one or two paddle fans. Extending electrical wiring onto your porch is also a simple task and one or two electrical outlets might come in handy also.

Another note: Your roofing should extend 15 to 20 inches beyond the screening in order to avoid getting rain on your porch.

If you do not already have a patio structure suitable for building a screened porch, you may want to consider creating a simple screened gazebo in your garden.
